Autumn Vogel ’15: There’s a Co-op for that! Exploring the Cooperative Business Model and its Applications in Meadville 3/28

The Center for Political Participation invites you to the final installment of the Law & Policy Speaker Series on economic policy and economic development. The event will be held in the Tillotson Room of the Tippie Alumni Center on Thursday, March 28, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm. Lunch will be served.

The featured speaker is Autumn Vogel ’15, a cooperative business developer with Keystone Development Center. Her talk will focus on how local businesses in Meadville have been exploring, and in some cases adopting, a cooperative business model (i.e. a model that involves greater control and ownership for workers).

It would be great to see you there. And please feel free to invite anyone to the event that you think would be interested.

Sustained Dialogues 4/5

Calling all campus members! The Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion will be hosting a zoom call with The Sustained Dialogues Institute on Friday, April 5 at 9:30 am.

This 90-minute call will discuss a possible partnership to bring Sustained Dialogues back to campus.

Sustained Dialogue is an intentional, patented, and replicable peace process used to improve challenging relationships and come to action in intergroup conflicts.

Opening Reception Friday, 3/29 For “work from home,” An Exhibition Curated by Haley Fabich

You’re invited to celebrate the opening of “work from home,” an exhibition at the Meadville Public Library curated by Haley Fabich as part of their Senior Comp. Haley has organized an exhibition exploring ideas about gender and domesticity, featuring early twentieth-century appliances on loan from the Crawford County Historical Society, alongside works by contemporary artists.

Participating artists include Allegheny students Jane Robinholt and Ash Tipton, Allegheny alumna Sophie Thompson, as well as Kayla Przekop and Eric Anthony Berdis.

The reception takes place from 4 – 5 pm on Friday, March 29, on the third floor of the Meadville Public Library (848 N Main St). Light bites will be provided.
